Quickly and accurately align a 3D view to a photograph! Vectorworks has some great 3D view manipulation tools, but when trying to align a 3D model to align with a photo, the process can be time consuming (and frustrating) at best. The Renderworks Camera object can help with this process, but it's just not designed for the task. Trying to adjust the Renderworks Camera`s many tuning controls while keeping the model in the correct place on the photo can take hours of trial & error. And after all the trial and error, the process can still leave some question about the accuracy of the view. This is where
CameraMatch 2013 comes in. The
CameraMatch 2013 process involves placing a 3D reference point in your model, then placing a
CameraMatch 2013 object in a viewport's annotation space. The 3D reference point gives
CameraMatch 2013 the location and orientation of the model. The
CameraMatch 2013 object locates the reference point on the photo and establishes vanishing points by aligning control lines along
elements in the photo.
New Preview Object:
The Preview Object is an object shown within the CameraMatch object to aid in setting up the CameraMatch view. This object is made up of two vertical planes placed in relation to the Reference Target. One vertical plane is green and vanishes towards the left vanish point and the other plane is red and vanishes towards the right vanish point. This object always displays in the perspective view calculated by the CameraMatch object (according to it’s current settings). This provides a “live” preview as adjustments are made - making it easier to get the settings and control lines set accurately. The PreviewObject can even be sized and located to act as a virtual model of an existing element in the photo.
