finalFlares 1.5, the long-awaited successor to RealLensFlare II, is now available as a plug-in for
3ds Max and
3ds Max Design. Finally, one of the best and most powerful F/X packages for
3ds Max becomes available to every 3D artist for a very affordable price.
The
finalFlares effects engine has already been used many major motion pictures and game titles today, including Lethal Weapon, Lost in Space, Schuh des Manitu, Command and Conquer, StarCraft and Diablo II, among many others.
The plug-in offers the most sophisticated flare generation technology available for
3ds Max. As a true atmospheric effect, it finally solves a long lasting problem - lens flares can finally be seen in and behind refracting or reflecting objects. No more hacking around and compositing tricks - transparent materials will respect the flares immediately, so creating these kinds of effects are obtainable with just a few simple mouse clicks.
Moreover, as your objects move throughout your scenes, the flares will deform correctly in the direction of motion, so that they appear as they would if filmed live. With photorealism and accuracy in mind, flares fade according to their position as they move behind other objects, and are affected realistically by translucent materials which tint them as they pass through them.
Flares even appear correctly in fog! And the fun doesn't stop there. You can create particle flares using a special Particle Flow operator or the new ACAP technology,
thinkingParticles, for even more control.
Beyond flares, this
finalFlares 1.5 plug-in suite provides you with impressive glows and highlights that can be used to create everything from subtle blooming on metallic surfaces to full-on plantetary auras and shimmering effects over your objects. Glows can be controlled down to the material level or placed solely on the edges of selected objects to achieve beautiful results.
